Foreign Participants

Effective February 19, 2002, prior to transporting a firearm into the U.S. for hunting or target shooting, a gun owner from out of country must complete the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) form 6NIA and submit it and a copy of his hunting license or invitation to a shooting event to the ATF for approval prior to entering the United States with a weapon. This could be a lengthy process, so the ATF is suggesting a 6 week turn around. Form 6NIA is available from the ATF or from U.S. Customs. U. S. Government forms can also be obtained from the U. S. Embassy or Consulate in your country.  For Bordertown participants, your confirmation letter should be sufficient to submit with form 6NIA.
